Had the same issue. was able to remove door trim at the lock end enough to grab solid wire link between the handle and lock. Can't remember which way i pulled/pushed (i'm away from the car at the moment) but i do remember it was logical. was able to unlock the door as if i was using the door handle. A crack on the far left of the door (side farther from the engine) was wide enough to grab and pull out a bit. With little effort I could pull the sliding door away from the van. This pull would then help the sliding door to make it past the sharp bend in the track to where I could then slide the door back along the track to where it locks open.

Posted July 30, 2021. The problem is the actuator (motor - plastic part where cables are plugged in). Sometimes it is broken and don’t let you open door manually with switch inside the door. If you able to take it out first then the other parts start moving freely and you can open with switch.
Sometimes the switch gets corroded and goes s/c (short circuit). Switch should be s/c (in released position)when door open and o/c (open circuit when switch pushed in) when the door is closed. You need to remove the switch from the chassis and test it with an Ohmmeter to prove that it is working correctly. If the switch is OK then perhaps the
